In 1990 I had never written a play, and anticipated never writing one. That was the year I joined Slough Writers and a few years later was encouraged to enter the group’s first one-act play competition. No Picnic won, and was staged by the Windsor Theatre Guild collecting a best actress award at the Henley Drama Festival.

Since then my playwriting has seen a dozen productions, half a dozen awards, two published and a four-month funded dramaturgy at Reading Girls’ School.

In parallel, short stories and poems keep popping out, as well as an historical novel. Journalism has taken the form of four years drama reviewing for the Reading Post and currently, as Fresh After Fifty, a column for the Slough Observer.

If you want to read more about the writing I never thought I’d visit, along with some that were on my itinerary BSW (Before Slough Writers), take an excursion to my website.
