I entered the world in the year that ‘The Monkees’ were formed and ‘The Sound of Music’ was first seen in cinemas. Born in a village in Essex, the second of three sisters, I was the quiet studious one who never broke a bone and never learnt to swim without armbands.
A primary school teacher for twenty years, I am delighted to have shared my love of books with many young children. During this time, I have travelled throughout Europe and beyond, devoured hundreds of books and been a volunteer for Oxfam (in Berkshire, as opposed to Burma or Bangladesh).
I have written short stories, articles, poems and I am working on two novels. I have been a member of Slough Writers since 2003 and in 2006 I was thrilled to be voted Slough Writers’ ‘Writer of the Year’.
My first novel, (working title – Poppy’s Deeds) is flourishing. I aim to have it published before I lose my youthful good looks and fabulous figure.
I live in Reading and I love dancing and chocolate.
