Welcome to Slough Writers

Slough Writers was formed in 1967 to support and encourage writers living in Slough and neighbouring Berkshire towns and villages. We're a friendly group that is keen to hear manuscripts and provide constructive criticism, with a view to improving our writing skills and having fun. We embrace fiction, articles, poetry and script writing and provide evenings to let members try new styles. We have some subgroups intended to provide additional support for specialist subjects, such as writing for profit and writing drama.

Our writers are a mix of professional and hobbyist writers. Although we do not expect everyone in the group to write commercially, we encourage members to enter competitions or send suitable writing to publications. As such, our members are always keen to suggest possible markets for work and have many successes to their names.
